Herbalife Nutrition donates a half million dollars in nutrition products to 120 blood donation centers across America. It has also hosted blood drives at its corporate headquarters, distribution center and its innovation and manufacturing facilities in North Carolina and California. The Herbalife Nutrition mobile blood van operates in South California. It impacts an estimated 25,000 lives a year. Herbalife encourages all to donate blood, especially its own employees, independent distributors and customers, either at a blood drive or at the American Red Cross in their area.
With over 8,000 employees, millions of customers and over three million Independent Distributors, in July 2015, more than 25,000 employees and distributors donated in St. Louis, Missouri at the Herbalife Nutrition Extravaganza. The Red Cross has been suffering a decline of about 80,000 blood donors a year for the last 4 years. The Chief Marketing Officer of the American Red Cross expressed his gratitude to Herbalife Nutrition for taking part in the “Missing Types” campaign that raised awareness of the need for types A, B and O blood, the most needed blood types.
Herbalife Nutrition has helped the Red Cross with other crises through the Herbalife Family Foundation. Herbalife helped to mobilize shelter volunteers and provided supplies to the victims of Hurricane Harvey and collected donations for the California wildfires victims. Donations went to the Red Cross to helped to provide shelter, blankets, clothes, clean water and food.
